Background
Growing up in Victoria’s Kiewa Valley, fishing wasn’t just a hobby—it was a way of life. From a young age, I spent every spare moment on the banks of the Kiewa River, casting spinnerbaits and lures for Murray Cod and Golden Perch. Regular trips into the High Country to chase trout with spinners and flies quickly turned a childhood passion into a lifelong obsession.
It was on these waters that I truly learned what makes a great lure. I spent years observing how fish react, studying river dynamics, and honing the tactics required to land the target species.

Lure making
My journey into lure making began back in high school. Frustrated by commercial options that didn’t quite hit the mark, I started designing and building my own spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and trout spinners.
What started as a personal quest for a better catch quickly grew into a small business, and I spent my weekends selling handmade lures at local markets. Now, in my late 20s, that same drive hasn’t changed. Reel Good Australia was born from a desire to take everything I’ve learned on the water and channel it into high-performance lures, tackle and fishing apparel.
The Process
I don’t believe in flashy, useless trends or over-engineered gimmicks that are designed to catch fishermen instead of fish. Every design at Reel Good Australia is born from real on-water experience.
We focus purely on what works: selecting highly effective profile shapes and matching the right colour palettes to trigger aggressive strikes. If it’s not a lure I would confidently tie onto my own line, it doesn’t leave the workshop.
Australian native fish are notorious for absolutely decimating cheap gear. That’s why we refuse to cut corners on our builds.

Hand-made Lures
We source only the highest-quality heavy-duty wire, razor-sharp hooks, and premium, high-action silicone skirts.
Every single spinnerbait and chatter bait is meticulously assembled and inspected to ensure it delivers maximum vibration and flawless tracking straight out of the packet.
The best anglers are always learning, and the same goes for lure making. I am constantly tinkering, field-testing new prototypes on the weekends, and looking for ways to refine my building techniques. I am incredibly excited to keep pushing the boundaries, expanding the Reel Good Australia range, and continuing to deliver premium, affordable gear that stands up to the toughest fights.
